The Saltwater Coast Lifestyle Centre, which opened in February 2012, won the Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award for Commercial Architecture at the 2012 Victorian Architecture Awards and the ‘Best Commercial Exterior’ at the 2012 Intergrain Timber Vision Awards.

A viewing tower offers breathtaking views to the city and bay whilst overlooking the Cheetham Wetlands, which provide refuge to the birds migrating to escape the northern hemisphere winter.
